five years.

A few days ago OJ and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. They have been the hardest and best years of my life. I'm blessed to be married to such a good man who helps me grow the way that I need to. So here is to many more years to come and whatever they may bring!

We were lucky enough to go on a real "date". My good friend Nicola watched Graham so that we could go to a movie and dinner. (Thanks Nicola!)  We've never been to the movies here so it took a little bit to find the theater not to mention it was pouring rain. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting...we were a little late and I guess I wasn't prepared for the 7 escalators we had to take to get to our theater. Oh Hong Kong... We followed it up with dinner at California Pizza Kitchen...delicious. When I type it, it sounds so ordinary but it was so great to get out just the two of us. That doesn't happen very often. Since we've been in Hong Kong we've sort of made a silent pact not to buy each other gifts. I love it. It takes so much pressure off. :)

We've been blessed this past year to spend so much time together as a little family. I wouldn't have it any other way no matter how hard life gets.

I love you Owen!

We are having...

A GIRL.

Apparently I'm really good at this guessing game...I knew all along. It was nice to have it confirmed though. And to see her sweet profile and squirmy body.  We are excited! Graham is still clueless...he was too busy playing with the toys to look up at the screen, however; he did pause long enough to hear the heartbeat. Last night he pulled OJ's shirt up and kissed his back and said "ohhhhhh baby". Poor kid...what have we taught him? Soon enough he will realize what it all means...for now we giggle at his sweet innocence.

Exhibit A:
My little boy is getting an imagination.
He loves playing with his cars and the printer.
As long as I am sitting right next to him.
Exhibit B:
He loves his rain boots.
He insisted on wearing them while he played.

He was driving me nuts tonight (the persistent whining about EVERYTHING has begun)...I needed a reminder of how cute he is. It worked. I love my Graham.

and we're back.

actually we didn't go anywhere.

quite the opposite actually. we've been stuck around home miserable and sick for the last two weeks. geez, i can't even remember the last time i was this sick. luckily graham didn't really get the worst of it but OJ and i did. i am amazed that graham slept through all of our coughing and hacking all night long in our little place. all of this sickness pushed me over the edge in home sickness department. when you can't go to a drug store and pick up some name brand tylenol and you have to start researching the actual drugs in these products, just so you can find what you need ...i don't know it makes you go a little CRAZY. I don't consider myself a very patient person and add being sick and pregnant to the mix and you get a crazy lady. not to mention the week we felt the worst was the week that OJ's boss was visiting from utah...awesome.
everyone around here is getting ready to head back to the states for the summer which hasn't helped. i've been way more upset then i thought i would be about not going back to the states for a visit this summer. i cried and cried and then cried some more on sunday night as OJ sat and listened to me say horrible and irrational things. the man's patience is never-ending, never-ending i tell you. i'm feeling better...i think. this week i've been mapping out fun activities we can do with graham this summer.

oh and we get to find out the sex of the baby next week!

a friend.

this is graham.

this is race.
graham and race are buddies and are only a couple of weeks apart in age. he lives in our building. his mom macey is my friend, she speaks english and just had another baby boy in february. i told her he was "so cute" (which he is). she said, (with a smile on her face) that I shouldn't tell her that. i should tell her he is "ugly". oh chinese culture, some things i'll never understand.
anyways,
here are graham and race in the playroom. they both wanted keys to try and "open" the cupboard. this kept them entertained for a long time.
race's dad lives in china and comes down once a week to visit his family. macey decided that it was too hard trying to take care of her two boys by herself so they are moving up to china. we are sad to see them go.

Spring Break...

We took Graham to Disneyland last week. We needed a little family getaway.
Here are some of Graham's favorite things from the trip...

1. The Stickers!  (underneath his hand) Every worker hands out these huge stickers. They kept him entertained in lines, riding in the stroller, waiting for dinner, etc.

2. Our hotel phone!
We don't have a phone at our house, well we do but it is only to call down to the security desk and G is not allowed to play with it. So you can imagine his delight when he could "pretend" on this phone all he wanted.

3. The little splash area at Disneyland. Really he would scream every time we pulled him away. All he wanted to do was stand at these bowls of water and splash his hands around.

4. Meeting Mickey! He doesn't look very pleased in this picture, because he was sick of getting his picture taken. Plus he didn't like it when the characters stood to the side of him...he wanted them face to face. He was giggling and squealing, and giving away kisses and hugs like nobody's business.

5. The car in front of Auto...blast I forget the name. Anyway, HAD to sit in it every time he saw it.

6. Making new friends! We were waiting in line to go to Tarzan's Island. This little boy just wanted to touch Graham's chubby cheeks.

7. Did I mention the stickers? He loves to put them on his belly button. Months ago I showed him how to do this when I was trying to entertain him. Ever since, the sticker goes straight on the belly.

8. Spending time with Dad! Isn't this picture great? So uncharacteristic of OJ. :)

9. Spending time with Mom, and yes that is ANOTHER sticker in his hand.

Shake Dance

A while ago I invented the shake song. Be prepared, you will be "wowed" by my lyrics. I invented this song because Graham would get so impatient when I was getting his milk ( milk is nasty here, so he drinks a higher level formula) Anyway, his dance moves are killer. We giggle everytime. So this isn't the best representation. He gets a little distracted wanting to say "cheese" for the camera. But you get the idea. And my song...it's copyrighted. Don't even think of stealing it. :)
